A close-up of the spring 2010 Louis Vuitton boots, which were a tad controversial back when they first showed. Even I, label-ho to the death, was a little scared by them (albeit in a good way). Though six months later and after a fashion month that featured fur out the wazoo, including Karl doing a furry-friend tribute show, these Marc Jacob-designed boots now look almost safe!

I live the Quicksilver one the best. After all, I’ve known for a loooong time that love don’t pay the bills simply because I DO and I like it that way!

Studio XXB Challenged a group of designers to use the limitations of the LEGO block and create prototypes  to be shown at the BrickWorld Exhibit . One of these days very soon I am going to get my first manicure at New York salon Valley (because I’ve only been dying to for at least two years!) but in the meantime, I’m enjoying the crop of new nail art images they recently put up on the site, especially the super hot matte black ones featured on this page.

We posted earlier about Karl being inspired by plushies for his fall ready-to-wear collection, and today we delve into some of the background of the amazing runway the furrie models walked for the show. According to Wallpaper, “the runway was painted with a trompe l’oeil effect, giving the impression of deep, glacial ice underneath. This was topped with a shallow layer of water. Chanel had also hired 35 ice sculptors who, over the course of 6 days, hewed 240 tonnes of ‘snice’ (frozen snow-ice, if you’re unfamiliar with the term) into a dramatic icescape, reaching 8.5 metres at its highest point. Models donned special transparent Chanel galoshes to wade through the watery catwalk and pace around the Iceberg.” One question, how do you find 35 ice sculptors?? Lol, can you imagine the Craig’sList ad?
