hmm, you guys are scaring me off of this a little. i’m actually going to do a field trip to valley, get my nails and see if i can’t take some pics while i’m there to. i’m going to report back on their opinions on matte world.

I have been trying out some OPI matte polish and I’m not that crazy about it – very hard to put on smoothly, not particularly durable. Maybe best left to the salon to apply! I do like how it looks with gloss tips though.

I got my first fill in with matte nail polish (OPI You Don’t Know Jaques – Matte) and the only time it looked like a true matte color is when I left the shop. Lotin, oils, cremes, etc (I’m black with natural hair so I STAY oily some kind of way lol) have really kept them shiny and kept me sad.

Is there any way to keep them matte?
