No offical show images are on line yet from the Alexander Wang Fall 2010 show, but Wire image did have a couple of backstage images and then some cut-off runway shots. To be honest, I had no idea Alex was this aodrable! He looks all relaxed-casual here with La Diabla herself, but what do you want to bet on the inside his stomach is doing multiple flip-flops?
UPDATE: Watch a stream of the show at SHOWstudio. Loving the pinstripe trousers and skirts. Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, etc….start your knock-off engines!

At Ruffian’s Fall 2010 runway show, models wore an eclipsed moon manicure, which, according to Style, has its style roots in the ’40s. Ruffian is by no means the first to reignite the look, but they are quickly setting the bar for hot-as-toast color combos and design twists. In this image, you can see the moon has been flipped, which CND nail stylist Roxanne Valinoti describes as an “eclipse.” In this image, the bottom layer is gold, layered on top with an opaque blue. So. Two things: it’s so perfect it makes me want to cry. And this will be my next manicure.

Someone got my kid a subscription to Sports Illustrated (which he doesn’t read for the articles OR the pics….thanks for nothing Facebook!) so I got a firsthand look at the Swimsuit Issue, which I previewed some images from last week. I started scanning all sorts of pages, but they came out crappy and then I discovered that SI has tons, and I mean TONS, of shots up on its own site. So what the hell, I reduced everything down to this one sweet Missoni suit, which is modeled here by Jess Gomes. If you’re looking for ideas for a bikini, it’s a good place to start. The site even lists where you can buy them. Happy hunting, girls (and boys).

Valentine’s Day is one of those themed days that can often be shunned by most, turned off by the mass commercialism, the idea that this is the one time of year that you show love to your significant other, the pressure to spend etc. In pure snobette fashion we could even call it tacky. However the mooshball, sucker for love that is yours truly finds that in essence the idea to celebrate not just romantic love but , Love itself is not a bad one.The intagible bond/connection that is universal among all humanity can get honored at least one day out of the 365.
Therefore in honour of “L’amour” I of course chose a pair of the hottest, most fiercely passionate shoes I could find. The ‘Sentiment Profond’ ( tr. Intense /Deep Emotion) Sandals by Mai Lemore. Featuring silk petals, hand painted leather, gold thorn-like heels, and a bee encrusted with crystal , onyx and agate. For info visit MaiLemore.com. Celebrate Love!

Shoes like these Alex Wang “Alla” Wedges are why I love fashion. I look at them and they actually make my heart leap. They made their first apperance on Alex’s Spring 2010 runway show and now they’re coming soon to ShopBop. Dreams do really come true! And yep, tomorrow is Alex’s big day on the runway for New York Fashion Week. He shows tomorrow at 5:00 at Pier 94. Talk about a coveted ticket. I’d wager NYC’s Downtownistas would like a seat for that show at least as much as Marc Jacob’s.

For the Fall 2010 Lamb collection all the iconic Gwen themes like plaid and military were present and as always, freshened via current silhouettes like one-shoulder tops and harem-influenced bottoms. It’s a sharp, very-ready-to-wear collection. Clearly Lamb’s issues are not the fashion as it appears on the runway, but more its positioning at retail, where it still seems to be struggling to find a pricepoint that makes sense for its level of cache. It’s never easy to crossover from one lane of success to another (”I’m a rock icon, no wait, a designer!”), though I give Gwen a lot of credit for have more success than most. She is one tough, never-give-up cookie.

For his Autumn/Winter 2010 debut Jonathan Simkhai presented a collection that showcases an ability not only to design but also to edit, create a clear look and aesthetic. In a mostly dark palette the collection is urban/edgy, but never austere, feminine and sexy with a healthy dose of menswear tailoring and detailing (which I luv!) .Every single piece of this collection is wearable as-is, and can literally go from the runway to the racks of any of our fave retailers like Browns, Barneys and of course Oak, which is no small feat for a debut collection. On the next page take a closer look at Jonathan Simkhai’s Autumn/Winter 2010 .

Rihanna is on the move, promoting herself and her music in Seoul, Korea. At a recent appearance she wore a very adorable Jeremy Scott snow leopard hoodie. I like how it’s not an all-over print. There are sections that are spot-free, similar to a real-live leopard. And while the ears are sort of cute (just sort of), I feel like I could live without the tail this top features.
On another note, have you seen her new video for “Rude Boy”? When we posted the fashion stills, a reader said it reminded her of M.I.A. And indeed, the graphics used in the video are clearly inspired by Ms. Swagger-Like-Us’ early videos.
Click through for a close-up on the candy-delish mani RihRih picked up in while in Japan, just prior to Seoul, and of course the tail!
