Rihanna’s Blazing Hot LV Drawstring Tote!

RihRihBagFront Rihannas Blazing Hot LV Drawstring Tote!

Rihanna has been spotted living it up in London recently. Nice to see her enjoying herself for a change.  More importantly, look at the LV drawstring tote she’s sporting! This one is from the Spring 2010 LV collection, which featured the controversial clogs. I am loving the new tassle trend and even though I’ve never been a big drawstring fan, this one has made me a convert, with its ever-so-cute wrist strap and the mix and match of LV leathers featured on the bag.

When it comes to shoes, in my world  its either sky high or  to the ground. Mid-Heels for the most  part do not hold my attention however, for Spring/Summer 2010 the  Chie Mihara collection  is filled with  fun shoes that have a nice retro look,  definitely worthy of mention . Let’s not forget amazing craftmanship and quality. A closer look at a few favorites from Chie Mihara Spring/Summer 2010 on the next page.

 Introducing:Le Sang des Betes Spring/Summer 2010

Inspired by  Gothic and modern architecture Los angeles based Tran Chau created le Sang des Betes tr. ‘The blood of the beasts’. As I am a bit puzzled by the choice of name her Spring 2010 Collection titled “Lament” is filled with great  modern pieces including a very fun convertible dress that creates a bright and optismistic contrast to the otherwise dark and edgy name. A closer look at Le Sang des Betes Spring/Summer 2010 on the next page.

Just spotted at SL , Yohji Yamamoto’s Coming Soon Spring/Summer 2010 collection titled” Le Chef Chic”. Directed by Max Vadukul. Sticking with the idea of presenting the collection through dance, which does a good job of illustrating the comfort level of the apparel.  The sun in the film  is a beautiful touch however I would have loved to see more detail shots of the apparel.

ChloeSevigny & CarineRoitfeld

A bunch of the music, film and fashion world’s heaviest hitters came out in force for a 30th anniversary gala had at Los Angeles’s Museum of Contemporary Art on Saturday. The intriguing combo of Chloe Sevigny and French Vogue Editor, Carine Roitfeld, is featured here, but after the flip you’ll find Miucca Prada (check out her shoes!), Gwen & Gavin, Pharrell, Takashi Murakami, Rachel Zoe, Eva Mendes, Ciara, Lady GaGa, resident hottie James Franco (with a woman on his arm!) and a very severe-looking Jeremey Scott.

Obama/Mao Mania: Not So Fast!

ObamaMao Obama/Mao Mania: Not So Fast!

I was tickled to see that news of Obama’s visit to China had inspired the folks there in many of the same ways his storybook rise captured the hearts of many Americans. The image here shows some of the t-shirts and other memorabilia that local shopkeepers started selling in advance of his arrival. But much like a NYPD clamp down on Chinatown shops selling fake Prada bags, the Chinese government fanned out and put an end to the sale of  t-shirts and other items holding up Barry as a modern-day version of Mao. Supposedly they were concerned Obama would be insulted by the comparison to the world’s most famous communist, but who knows. I don’t know nearly enough about Chinese politics/history to guess some of the hidden reasons. Meanwhile, now that the tees have been banned, there collectable status has just been raised four-fold (and yep, you can already find them on Ebay).

BeyonceFanB&GaGa

Above is one of the images from the Beyonce/Lady GaGa video for “Video Phone” song that leaked out over the weekend. We were kinda hoping to see the GaGa/Rihanna collabo first, but oh well, maybe that’s just to much fierceness in one room. Plus, as Samia pointed out last night, our favorite Southern Belle, Beyonce, is still focused on raising her edgy quotient. And if Ms. Knowles is on a mission, aint nothin’ gonna get in her way!

There’s one more still after the jump. These images are from BeyonceFan, which also links to the song track. I love Bee’s music, but there is zero new ground being broken on this one.
