Heather Williams created her footwear and handbag  line for the Autumn/Winter 2009 season,focusing on high end materials and fabrication. The collection reminds us slightly of early Sigerson Morisson pieces in a good way. Sleek design not overdone with subtle detailing like tusk heels (above) or zipper accents. Since I laid eyes on  Sophie Hulme’s    A/W ‘08 collection featuring a  sleek coat with a silver chained whistle I have been hooked. Sophie Hulme’s  clothes remind me of  a glam version of an urban apocalyptic movie , like brave new world or   the matrix with a streak of happy disco  sequins. Edging on stern urban /military modernism the line is still feminine , relatable and   fluid enough to allow the woman’s  own sense of power shine through. Holly Fulton caught my  eye with her debut collection for  Autumn/Winter 2009 and her modern take on embellishment. For Spring 2010 ,” inspired by Eduardo Paolozzi’s Wittgenstein in New York with its vibrant use of colour and homage to Art Deco architecture.” The collection is bold and modern but still attainable and wearable  . Gucci’s resort collection is now available for purchase. Being an unabashed label-ho myself, I gotta say that not a lot beats out Gucci’s classic green and red band for iconic points.  Add in the zipper detail, which plays so perfectly against the leather strap and silver buckle and you have a shoe that at the end of the day you’d be very reluctant to take off your feet.  (Heh,  not that your significant other would argue given how awfully sexy they’d look resting on a set of satin sheets!)
