The Case With Ungaro Spring 2010

ungaro11 540x359 The Case With Ungaro Spring 2010

In these parts we are all about supporting women. That is why for the most part you will not read starlets  being bashed on this site ect. If it’s not constructive we’d rather not say it . One of our big loves tough is always  the question of branding and young celebrity endorsements. Case in point : The choice of Lindsay Lohan as creative director for Emanuel Ungaro.  My sister and I have loved Ungaro as early  as we can remember seeing his extravagant prints and ruffles on” Style with Elsa Clench” back in the day.The label  regarless of dwindling sales always had a  strong high end image. Nonetheless the resignation of Esteban Cortazar, who is undeniably talented makes us wonder…

Why  is an  American starlet chosen by a major European Fashion label? When I am  sure that there is a plethora of young stylish young women In Europe (duhh!) Is youth celebrity buzz  really necessary to  make a  mature  luxury brand hot? Or is there something we have missed? They  did get us talking about it , (here too!). How many buyers are now placing orders?  A glimpse at the Ungaro Show on the next page. Via coutorture.

givprem Shoe Lust: Givenchy Spring/Summer 2010!

For Spring ‘10 Riccardo Tisci sent his models down the runway in sky- high wedges, in black, white,  nude and a great interpretation of what looks like  a mix of African and  Keffiyeh print. I’m more of a platform stiletto girl but these wedges just work! More beauties  from Givenchy Spring/Summer 2010 on the next page.Via style. The apparel is on point too!
