Jean- Paul Gaultier Spring 2010 : Why He Rocks!

One of  my favorite observations in fashion is the ability of those who have been at it for a while to truly have ” a look” , a signature. Something that you often have to hold on to regardless of what the trend forecasts say or even sometimes what you know the buyers want. Because at some point yes you want to look at clothing as practical and wearable but there is also an element of fantasy , art & creation that makes fashion what it is.

A perfect example is my beloved Jean-Paul Gaultier who showed in his spring 2010 collection his talent for creating high end fashion with a pulse on the streets while always maintaining his signature  provocative edge. Titled “the G Spot” Gaultier    made   a corset for pregnant Jourdan Dunn,  and revived the signature “cone bras” that Madonna made famous in many variations including denim.
