With their consistent sense of luxury and sophistication Laurel Anderson and David Peck of Untitled 11:11 presented their Spring/Summer 2010 collection this week-end at Axelle Art gallery,providing a sleek backdrop for their creations. Inspired by the glamour of the 1970’s French Riviera the collection was filled with covetable custom printed separates, floor grazing dresses, showcasing   not only an attention to detail and craftmanship but mostly  a unique sense of romance and  nostalgia that  has become the signature of this young label we  have been smitten with since it’s inception. Last night we scoured the streets of Soho during fashion ’s night out, to see how the shopping   festivity was was going to take place. The always buzzing neighborhood of Soho was filled with pedestrians going from store to store enjoying various events, food , drinks  and music. Levis & Costume National were jamming!

As the shopping night seemed to have been successful for big brands and retailers who aggressively advertised to  pull crowds into their stores. Independent designers and  boutiques we visited experienced a slight increase in traffic but  pretty much no sales. One handsome boutique owner even compared  the night  to ‘halloween for fashion” an interesting analogy when I for one was looking forward to  see a plethora of decked out individuals perusing the street but I was left underwhelmed. Nonetheless  duo above , too fabulous for words, allowed me to have my first  Garance/Tommy Ton  moment . The last LAMB collection on record was for the Spring 2008 .Two years later we are excited to see it back . Nonetheless I’m afraid that even as cool  and wearable as the looks and pieces are they lack the identy, or the perceived Identity of the celebrity behind it. The rock -chic with a twist has been done alot lately . I love it but then again I wonder if this collection stands out enough among its contemporaries, to seduce the buyers and consumer. Or maybe the goal is , to seamlessly blend in to the contemporary landscape? A closer look of the still very cool, fun and wearable LAMB s/s 2010 Collection.Via style.

If any of you can Identify this little number worn by Fergie on stage that would be rad. The sheer side panels are definitely interesting , but we’d like to see that feature on a longer silhouette where the detailling would really stand out and probably be more chic?via wire. Finally!!! A sign that LAMB, the clothing line did not disappear, unlike their site. Gwen Stefani presented her Spring/Summer 2010 collection at Milk Studios yesterday with an installation of models clad in LAMB apparel and footwear. A closer look on the next page. Definitely carving her own distinct spot into the fashion scene Erin Magee-Albino’s Made Me presents us her Autumn/winter 2009 collection titled : Tough Love ” inspired by androgyny and the idea of moving society forward by challenging what is conventionally sexy. Using traditionally masculine silhouettes with feminine fits and New York street sensibility, Tough Love is a collection defined by aesthetic and attitude.” Needless to to say I want every single piece. Having had an extensive background in visual merchandising, The RL ‘Rugby” stores have always ranked high of my list as a perfect examples of branding and lifestyle applied to retail. The women’s collection always features great blazers, pants and shirts as well as healthy dose of  feminine dresses and skirts, that hints to the rugby sport,vintage americana with a rebellious streak.

 Last night we had the pleasure to experience and preview the latest addition to the Rugby online experience  the Rugby Make Your Own, iApplication , where you can customise various rugby pieces, upload your creations to facebook and their gallery , rate designs and of course purchase. This  is one footwear  ’inspiration’ that I  have to applaud. When Miucca sent those beauties down the runway for her Prada  A/W 2009 collection, I was in awe. As much as I loved the idea I really wanted to see their practical interpretation. But I never thought  that in these times a contemporary label  like Report would take the risk of creating what is an amazingly edgy piece of footwear with its own orginal design elements under 500 bucks!
