Here’s a  peek at the Wesc Woman  Spring/Summer 2010 Women’s collection. We have always loved Wesc as they have been able to seamlessly walk the lines of street and contemporary. For Spring/Summer 2010 we  see it even more as the collection includes standards like denim,  tees , hoodies tanks, shorts and goes into very fashionable outerwear like trenches and jackets. Samia and I finally stopped by M.O.B. headquarters on Friday to say hello to boss lady Leah McSweeney and check out what she has planned for the fall. Can I first just say how happy it makes me to visit her bustling office (with its AMAZING Empire State Building view of southern Manhattan–tho, sob, still miss those Twin Towers….r.i.p.) and realize that the entire joint is headed up by a 26-year old female!! Seriously, that is my idea of nirvana. Especially when you consider that her empire was formed while sitting on a Manhattan stoop, sipping Marqueritas.

As usual, there’s a lot on the table, including M.O.B’s takeover this week of Karmaloop, which will include a 5-year anniversary product launch exclusive to the site, another kicks collabo , plus a party at Magic on August 31st.

When Chanel sued Naco for their use of their logo , Naco  actually won, and Sir Karl was even seen rocking his bag. Naco created his unisex label in 2001, making statements   against  massive consumerism and branding  with a an anti-establishment punk edge. Known  as’ Comme des Garçons Play for Converse ‘the latest collaboration between Comme des Garcons and Converse will be available in october, and includes four styles styles. Two high tops and two oxfords. According to a spokesperson, “Converse has a long history of being on the feet of those who have chosen to disrupt the status quo”.

 ”The collaboration was born out of Rei Kawakubo’s affection for a particular Chuck Taylor All Star model from the Converse archives that was originally produced in the Fifties for the U.S. Army. Using details from that model, Converse and Kawakubo came up with the four prototypes, which will retail for $100 each. Available at the end of August in Comme des Garçons stores in New York, Paris, London, Hong Kong and Seoul, including select retailers that sell Comme des Garçons Play, and in October, distribution will grow with a second launch in the same Comme des Garçons stores as well as top Converse retailers in the U.S., Canada and China.”-via wwd.
