Clearly ‘Inspired’ by what some of our fave labels have been doing,  sequined sarouels, bustle jackets, even pointy shoulders, The Topshop lookbook almost wins us over. The thigh high boots look amazing but then again one has to see, touch and feel to believe. Topshop is still a fast fashion label and we know that great styiling can work miracles. The Dior couture  A/W 2009 show transports us  to a world of glamour opulence and  femininity that reminds me of why I fell in love with fashion, in the first place. Although Shonibare’s artwork is made with the intent of ‘exploring contemporary African identity and its relationship to European colonialism through painting, sculpture, installation, and moving image’. We could not help but be impressed by his use of african fabrics, in victorian  costumes. A must see at the Broobklyn Museum until september 20,2009.
