The fate of the fashion magazines with the expansion of online media  will lie in a publications ability to showcase fashion as art and not just replicate the looks of the runway. This editorial featured in the July/August ‘09 issue of   L’officiel  where Alexandra Zaharova and Ilya Plotnikov fashioned dresses and accessories completely out of paper is simply admirable. The kind  of rubber boots  that are sleek enough to not look like rain boots is still very rare as rain boots are often too bright or sporty . Hopefully the amount of rain in NYC this summer will inspire more labels to include more transitional rain friendly styles. The Givenchy Rubber Cowboy   boots are a great example of  what can be done. Available at Saks.

 I have a greta admiration for designers like Martin Margiela who, always set themselves apart of the crowd  by constantly reinventing and pushing the boundaries of what can be done and worn. As opinions widely differ on the topic of leggings, are they pants? what’s  good, bad and just tacky?  When worn properly  they can add whole new dimension to an otherwise unimpressive outfit.These Tie Leggings by our beloved Anzevino and Florence  are anything but boring.
