One of our fave Artist/Photographer,  Lynnette Astaire was interviewed by Dazed & Confused , about her latest  project American Gothic  a public Arts project based off of  one of her photograph’s “John Monroe,” a visual statement intended to symbolize the alleged affair between John F. We love clothes here, but shoes! The ones that ignite admiration have a special place , special place in our hearts. Such is the case for Ruthie Davis  a former designer at Reebok (!) who has taken our hearts away quite a few times so far with her creations. Davis  answered  10 Questions for wwd,  about the very  magnetic shoe business and her journey  read the  feature here.

Launching in mid September here’s a look at the capsule Collection of footwear by Pierre Hardy for the Gap.  Two suede boot  styles in grey, navy , khaki, olive and a leather sandal in  grey and navy leather, via Vogue France.

The Fashion Institute in Los Angeles recently opened up its Oustanding Art of Television and Costume Design Exhibit, which featured clothing used in a bunch of shows/movies from this past year, including “Gossip Girl,”  ”No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency” and “Coco Chanel.” Guess which tv show the clothes featured here are from? (Not for nothing, but I doubt you’ll guess in large part because the mannequins make it almost impossible. Just goes to show that most times it’s the woman who makes the clothes not the other way around.)

Gwen is touring with her old buddies, No Doubt, working hard to bring back some of the magic of yore and do a little damage control from some of her missteps (the yodeling song, a sputtering shoe and clothing line, packaging ethnic stereotypes to market herself and her products) over the past year or so. Oh well, nobody’s perfect, right? I hope she succeed at her goals. She’s an amazing woman.

Only in her second season  Ovitz created what we consider to be a modern woman’s complete wardrobe , ranging from casual,  tailored and evening wear. As much as I find  baby doll silhouette dresses to be hard to wear, the styling of this silk dress with the addition of a  pointed collar makes it interesting . Available at wingandwedy. Full image on the next page.
