It’s Time for Recess!!

Bored of the same ol’ same ol’ this summer check out Recess New York an  inclusive and unique series of sporting events provide an alternative lifestyle to the otherwise rudimentary activities that dominate and sometimes dull our urbanite senses, while offering a refreshing twist on the original game and bringing an eclectic mix of people onto the same playing ground. RECESS is teaming up with TRETORN®, PUMA® and GOVERNORS ISLAND this summer to bring THE LAWN SERIES edition to Governor’s Island for 3 days of outdoor fun and lawn games, food and festivities.

While an organized team competition with the creative community is being conducted, attendees will also have an opportunity to learn and play the three sports featured: badminton (June 20th), table tennis (August 22nd) and bocce (September 26th). Van Leeuwen ice cream & Le Gamin food mobile truck will be onsite to offer delicacies while Kronan and BioMega will offer attendees an opportunity to test ride their bikes.

Colonel’s Row @ Governor’s Island
Directions: The FREE Governors Island Ferry departs from the Battery Maritime Building located adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry in Lower Manhattan. The ferry to Governors Island leaves at 10am, 11am and every half hour after that until 5pm, while the return ferry heads back to Manhattan from the island at 10:30am, 11:30am and every half hour after that with the last ferry leaving at 7pm.
