When I  moved to New York and  I first saw a family picture of folks fully decked in Louis Vuitton  Monogram gear, it took the enlightenment of a friend to “explain” the fakes and their existence in certain part of the city. With this spirit Solefood Shop created the Canal street AF1. There’s something kinda humorous about them. Of course we wonder if anyone will get sued…via racked

This week-end we attended  Stoked on Spring 2009 , a benefit for the very cool and very  necessary  Stoked organisation co-founded by Steve Larosiliere that provides mentorship to  teens through action sports. The coolest thing about Stoked  is that, unlike what we previously thought you don’t have to be an action sports buff to be a mentor.The mentor and mentee get to learn together and therefore learn from each other. We were also impressed by the immense generosity of the artists who donated an large amount of  pieces to this great cause. Inspired by their frequent visits to Nepal, Michelle Baldwin and Michelle Taylor-Spearman  launched their accessories line in 2007. Iconique Fashion Magazine will be one of the first online fashion magazines to take an interview on Twitter. Both the designer and magazine are active on Twitter and keen on online media in general. Joline Jolink launched her successful webshop in 2008, which made her one of the first Dutch designers to sell online.
