Vuori Clothing   a newly launched label  with a great message  ,  created by Joe Kdla and Chad Alasantro caught our eye not only because of the great mission behind the label , but also by the design quality of the mainly graphic t-shirt collection.

“Using fashion as a medium, Vuori recognizes the environmentalists, activists, and humanitarians whose visions inspire us to live with more awareness. On the inside of each garment, we pay tribute to these individuals and their respective heroic endeavors. With each season, retailers are invited to get involved, and direct the donation generated by their purchase to the organization/s whose missions align with their stores unique values. Vuori’sFall 2009 collection represents collaborations with Sam Roberts, Canada’s Juno award winner for Rock Album of the Year, Australian singer song writer and environmental advocate Missy Higgins, former MTV anchor and Oprah’s go-to environmental messenger, Simran Sethi, and Graham Hill, founder of TreeHugger.com and Discovery Channel’s planet green. In collaboration with the very cool Palm Springs Ace Hotel  , Generic Man created a signature unisex  sneaker for the hotel .   The sneaker is made entirely of  a breathable  mesh canvas, quick drying material with a  non slip sole, that makes sneaker wearing in oppressive heat effortless. The sneaker is accompanied by a tote of the same fabric   allowing  patrons to carry their belongings from their rooms to the pool. In what seems like a very short time Pour la Victoire, a label I had honestly never heard of until about a year or two, has established themselves as a serious fashion footwear label with some original designs, some we can clearly say  are  ‘inspired’  and,  wide  distribution. The  Boyfriend Shirt, or the men’s plaid cotton button -down as modeled by Mk Olsen can be a great option for those days when you just want to chill and throw something comfy and loose, but still cute .The men’s brand Company 81 , makes a great lightweight style. For more go here .

Norma Kamali has been doing her thing , and doing it  well for a long time, her collections manage to be classic , and current  at at the same time. The Studs Collection featuring this very flattering studded pencil skirt is a great example of apparel that you will have for a very long time,  that look good no matter, what ‘the look’ of the moment is. When looking for standout accessories, I always advise to check out men’s accessories especially jewelry.Often edgier , the jewelry from the men’s department  is often price very moderately compared to their female counterparts .  Check out the industrial bracelets from Techno Limit, available at browns. When I heard  about the collaboration between the very inventive Posso the Spat and Costume Dept. I expected a very visually inspiring and creative collection with a little bit of the fabulous Flo Jo (R.I.P) thrown in , a combo of one legged suits and Denise Marchebout s/s ‘09. I  got event more.  Titled ‘Space Safari’, this collaboration takes a stylish and modern look at swimwear, with very wearable styles in a mainly dark palette accentuated by neon and tribal accents.

Some standout pieces include, a very fun  unisex safari shirt, a neon netted strapless suit and a great draped ’swimsuit dress’ one piece  that would double very well as bodysuit, neon spats and great neon belts.
