A native of North Dakota, Anna Hovet moved to Chicago in 2003, where she began her foray in fashion design and styling. Anna  recently launched her premier collection for Autumn/ Winter 2009 , available this August. The bow jacket , and hooded tank (above)  stood out as my favorite pieces of the collection comprising of a convertible jacket, leggings, dresses and tops  with her signature contrasting fabric panels. Racked just posted a few images of the collaboration between current fashion darling Alexander Wang and the Gap. Consisting of pretty   much all  khaki pieces , on the next page. Dunno about this one, hopefully there will be more…

We  attended   Diesel’s launch  ,  of their latest  frangrance Only the Brave ,  which took place In conjunction with an art exhibit  of the same theme with artists from the Keystone Design Union. Celebrating the bravery it takes to pursue your dreams in the artistic world ,the show featured the art of  our own  Lynnette Astaire, Lex Mestrovick, the much talked about gigantic handmade print by artist Edgar Gonzalez, from Ecuador that took 4 years to complete and much much more. Junko Shimada started her design studio  in 1982, and is known  as the first Japanese designer to settle in France in the 60’s . For Spring /Summer 2009 her collection makes a nod to nature with clear ocean and garden inspirations. My favorite looks from Junko Shimada Spring/Summer 2009 on the next page.

Shoes , are the Hottest category right now. We love that neo2 put together this feature of some of the best and definitely out-of the-box shoes for Spring /Summer’ 09.  Cannot even pick a favorite. I’m totally overwhelmed A closer look at my faves on the next page.

I have said that Lanvin totally slept on these since , Alber Elbaz could have done better to heighten the design. Nonetheless the fact that the first lady was able to rock them so adorably makes me kinda happy. Especially with gray socks!  Full view on the next page.Images via Wire+huffington.

The succession of collaborations is alive and well , with Alexander Wang being the next designer to create a capsule collection with The Gap!  launching June 16. Did not think we were going to see this so soon, but then again  its better  to do these ventures when you’re hot , and The Gap  probably could use the boost right?  More info via racked
