Rihanna showed up at the Costume Institute Gala in NYC last night in this gender bending Dolce & Gabbana. With ’80’s power bitch shoulder pads and a cropped length on the pant it is definitely a fashion risk. What do you all think? Hit or Miss?

I think it’s a hit. I like that the outfit is gender bending, but still distinctly feminine. I’d rock it.
I’m on the fence.. but the good thing is she’s not a 50+ year old woman trying to do this!!!

The sleeves are my favorite part, im a little uneasy about the rest of the silhouette though.
Think it works but the proportion is just a tad off, A slightly shorter jacket, stopping mid hip or even curved (shorter front/longer back) would have made it flawless.

i love everything that rihanna is rocking these days… i say it\’s a hit… there\’s a time and place for everything, and this is the costume institute gala, so i say she can go a little over the top… if she was wearing this to have lunch with her friends, then i say NO!
I love this outfit even though the media said it was a total no-no!! I love the emphasized shoulders, and her hair and make up is stunning.
Her jacket reminds me of a elephants head. Look at the shoulders…that’s the ears. So forth and so on. She looks cute but the shape of the jacket is distracting
