Dear Creatures has officially earned their fashion badge in our book. The collections get stronger by the season.

Fall 2009 conjures up one of my all-time favorite 80’s movies, Troop Beverly Hills. Crisp khakis and navies, checkered blouses, with red ribbon trimmings, and a green beret here and there to top things off in a darling nod to the all American classic, the Girl Scout.

They’ve got starlet Zooey Deschanel on their side too. Dear Creatures pieces always strike the perfect balance between playful and sophisticated, modern and throwback, work or weekend – all at once, a task worth some serious brownie points.

There seems to be a movement in  a portion of the music world that seems to be constantly veering towards the edgy/rock/goth with undertones of s&m when it comes to fashion and styling.  Singer Cassie’ s latest haircut  makes me wonder if we’ll see her transformation into the edgy side of fashion  OR  if  this was her all along…Image via concreteloop.

William Anzevino and Richard  Florence  recently launched Laugh Cry Repeat, a  secondary more contemporary addition  to their very coveted Anzevino & Florence line. The Autumn/Winter ‘09 collection launching late this summer features great modern pieces,  like a zippered cape (above) a scarf attached hooded sweater, a  very Rick Owens-ish draped  t-shirt, dresses, tees, an upside down jacket , and much more, with  all the signature details that make the creative duo one of our favorite labels. Of course this is for the boys, but one  can always dream:”Yves Saint Laurent has joined forces with sister company Puma to create a high-top sneaker melding Stefano Pilati’s design prowess and the activewear firm’s technical expertise. The men’s style, available in black leather or gray suede, just arrived in YSL boutiques, however, in the U.S. it will be sold exclusively on the brand’s e-commerce site. I would be lying if I said I never had interest in the oh so saturated Murakami for LV collection. Nonetheless,  the plethora of copies we saw especially in NYC , the overall trendiness and overexposure , had us shaking our heads like nah, can’t go there. We were just sent the images of The Monogram Multicolore Murakami wallets and I have to say in all honesty that hidden in the privacy of my handbag this little number might actually get me to wanna go there. This is the kind of thing that gets a celebrity on every worst  dressed list possible in the US. But I have to admit to having a weakness for this jumpsuit that transforms from a strapless to a cowl neck.  Although the strapless version is so much more flattering, you have to appreciate the creativity of  Bless  and of course totally give props to the women who actually  can  make this work. Mademoiselle Yulia  is a girl about town/Dj who   has a blog on honeyee and designs the fab  accessory line called Giza. The chunky geometric pieces  with a clear egyptian influence   speak for themselves. That ring is calling my name… A closer look on the next page.Via honeyee.

There was some men’s fashion featured in the Brooklyn Fashion Week[end] shots, but whatever, Samia likes looking at men’s fashion, but I just like looking at the men! And these two guys got me to thinking…what’s better, a man with rock-hard six pack abs or a guy who’s got a little paunch?  One is just HAWT and the other is just SWEET. I honestly would hate to choose! It’s like asking if I want an ice cream Sundae with sprinkles or whipped cream?? I want both dammit!
