German brand F.Rau Berlin presents their Spring/Summer 2009 collection. Stoic and straight forward, the line brings us plenty of separates for Spring in colorful satin. The entire collection is cohesive and easy to mix and match together. It is littered with jewel tones that have been paired with pale yellows and crisp whites.  I’m loving the jade green straight leg pant.

More after the jump from F.Rau Berlin.

One of my fave west coast based labels  has to be the duo of  William Anzevino and Richard Florence, designers of Anzevino & Florence. For autumn2009 their collection features  playful ballerina inspired pants, the use of a trash bag like fabric, an amazing origami collared men’s shirt and many more great pieces showcasing their artistic manipulation of fabrics and textures. Acloser look at Anzevino & Florence’s  Feminine Autumn/Winter 2009 Lookbook on the next page.

han cover1 Introducing: Han Ahn Soon Autumn/Winter 2009

Han Ahn Soon   designed by AhnSoon Ahn presented her Autumn/Winter 2009 collection during japan fashion week . The line caught my eye as it’s fun , feminine but still not too girly. I have to say that  although the mongolian inspired coats and jacket  are  vaguely reminiscent of Anna Sui,  her aesthetic is  like a sleeker version of boho-chic.  Images via jfw.

On the next page a closer look at Han Ahn Soon  Autumn/Winter 2009.

afi480 Nike AF1 Maharam Limited Edition

Maharam’s unique interpretation of the AF1 introduces a silhouette constructed of Layers, a textile created by the Maharam Design Studio in collaboration with Jongerius. Layers, produced in 100% wool felt, uses sophisticated embroidery equipment played against artisanal hand-cutting to create patterning, resulting in an “industrial craft” hybrid. This already complex textile was further engineered to meet the specific needs of the AF1. The result represents a multi-disciplinary undertaking, bridging disparate aspects of industrial design including sports technology, textile design and the conceptual avant-garde. Layers is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.” Via Moss

NY TopShop Shoe Offerings Just OK

tsshoeview NY TopShop Shoe Offerings Just OK

Here’s another image from opening night at the NY TopShop launch party, where we get a peak of the shoe offerings. I’m not overwhelmed by what I’m what I’m seeing here, people.  Then again, I am super picky about my shoes in that I will spend money I don’t have to obtain ones that both standout from a design perspective and use high quality materials.

Btw, the guy in the image is Sir Philip Green, who owns TopShop and is INSANELY wealthy. According to Wiki, he is Britain’s seventh richest man! I wonder if that includes Queenie??
