The Cassette Society’s Summer 2009 collection is a bit all over the place. The line isn’t over themed making it hard to nail down just what it is The Cassette Society is trying to project giving it a “I don’t give a F**k” kind of feel. The relatively new line always presents a number of comfortable separates with a young, fresh edge. I’m a fan of their colored denim shorts, jumpers, and warm weather ready cotton dresses.

We featured Miakhanh Bertrand ’s Rebeldnce , last year , as a label we really took a strong liking to. Here is a look at her Spring /Summer 2009 Collection inspired by: “The Island of the Gods-Bali, Where traditional dancers meet international club hoppers.” The shapes are simple and modern, with the bali zipper dress and the square shoulder jacket(above) being  my favorite pieces .  Take a closer look at the women’s Rebeldnce Spring/Summer 2009 Collection on the next page.

In my search fro the perfect junpsuit I came across this pretty  little number by Australian designer Shona Joy. This is one rare occasion where the ruffles actually work for me. Available at Revolve.

Jessica Harris was inspired by the character of the famed italian erotic comedy superstar of the 70’s Edwige Fenech and her role in , Evil Thoughts (1976) for her Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. Blurrings the lines between contempoary, vintage and lingerie , the collection is nostalgic and fresh at the same time.

“These complete looks are a revisitation of not only the fashion sense but also the intense feminine sensuality that emanates from the female lead (expressed in the texture and cut of the materials). Something so strong that it could evoke a feverish jealousy similar to the paranoid fantasies of Fenech’s character’s husband in the film. From this comes the collection’s title Fenech 5″.

For her Summer 2009 collection Kali Arulpragasam , the designer behind the very coveted , socially conscious Super Fertile brings our attention to The Real Superstars “The inventors/scientists who shaped our civilisations in a global sense.Who help us evolve and enhance our lives.In the last 70 years we haven’t really paid attention to them. As the celebs from the big screen and the stage are dominating stradom. Demanding appaluse. Let’s stop and think for a second. It is so important to teach/encourage our future generations the importance of inventors. Everything else is a little overrated. So this is by far the most ambitious collection.Narrowed down to the top 10 inventors, only because I had to stop somewhere…”-Kali

Looking pulled together on a gray and cold  rainy day can be quite a challenge. Thankfully, the kind of trench  coats that makes  such a  sharp statement  that what’s underneath  really does not even matter, really do  exist. Designed by Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan , the canadian label  Mackage consistently provides the best  outerwear looks I’ve seen in a while. Atalanta Weller, A Passion For Design.

If there is one thing that can get me excited about fashion, it’s the shoes. Not just any generic, run of the mill shoes, but the kind that make you just want to stare in admiration of their design, craftmanship and innovation.

Born in a small town of Gloucestershire England Atalanta Weller, who is now based in Hoxton, was a logical choice for our first feature as her designs for The House of Holland, and her personal projects, perfectly illustrate a kind of footwear creation that elevates shoe design from functionality into art. HighSnobette believes the name of this relative newcomer to the fashion spotlight will be on every tongue, and on the feet of every fashionable female with a taste for the edgy and uncommon.
