Shoulder pads are  slowly creeping back in, to add more dimension to blazer silhouettes. Recycled accessories are popping up everywhere. However alot of the pieces still  lack  the refinement  to propel the ” recycled jewelry “category into high fashion. When a designer takes the time to refine his creations like Kotik’s, Yaov Kotik from Israel, one has to take notice and applaud the craftsmanship, creativity and design. Cloak and Dagger’s Fall 2009 collection makes a girl feel spoiled rotten. Everything from the luxurious fabrics to the perfect tailoring screams high end yet the line is certainly affordable. The current season was inspired by “The Great Gatsby” and it’s an obvious inspiration. There is party dress after party dress that could easily transition the time scape between Daisy Buchanan and today’s modern girl.

There are some ladies out there who can rock this dress and look effortlessly summery, breezy cool, and even avant-garde. Perks and Mini’s  great adaptation of a geometric ”Kente” print and the modern  drapey shape of these dresses is  very desirable. But, the last time I attempted  to rock a waist-less pouffy dress , one of the guys in my class asked me when I was due?  And I was repeatedly offered a seat on the train( that part  was actually cool!).  Needless to say,  some looks must be attempted with caution.
