I just took a look at the Secta  Spring/Summer 2009 Look book and I could not get my mind off this black jumpsuit. It’s just a classic, more original than the basic little black dress.  Secta  launched in 2007 aims to cater to the women who”.. express their beauty and elegance through modern fashion forward concepts”. For a swimwear experience that is truly unique Natalie Golonka, created JungleGurl saying: “I just want to help women love their bodies,” Because, mostly women don’t associate bikini shopping with a love-fest. “But they should! Because buying a bikini symbolizes a certain freedom. It means you’re breaking the restraints and getting to the most beautiful you!”.

Designed by Malyce Miller ,the Laeken apparel collection fuses her love of color and travel in collections that are feminine and eclectic. For Autumn/Winter 2009 Laeken takes us on a journey to places that reflect outdoor mountain chic,  like Oregon to  distant European cities   like Helsinki, known for their avant-garde affinities. Blending fabrics and prints, featuring coats,  dresses and tees,  for a look that is truly unique. On the next page my fave looks from the Laeken Autumn/Winter 2009 collection.

I remember a couple of years back when it became socially okay for guys  to wear a pink t-shirt in NYC . Men always wore pink, as the color has always been present in high end fashion of a certain preppy/country club easthetic. Nonetheless a lot of young hip guys would not be caught dead in it until of course a certain blank t-shirt maker became mass, offered pink in all different shades, and it became cool to rock pink. Hip-hop fashion embraced the hue and the rest is history. Interestingly enough  Jockey recently  reported a 62 percent increase in their sale of pink undies for men, specifically the pink Y shape briefs.via Nymag

Elle Mag recently featured newcomer Saloni Lodha as a young designer to watch. Her line of dresses Saloni stand on their own, as the kind of pieces that only need a fierce pair of shoes to accompany them. The Cora Strapless dress  available at My Wardrobe is a great example of how she uses her Indian heritage and her trainning as a graphic designer to enhance silhouettes with just enough adornment to make the clothing look special and individual . Here’s a   look  at  one of my favorites, Natalia Brilli. For Autumn/Winter 2009  her collection of very covetable leather wrapped accessories is vast, amazingly crafted, featuring  handbags , jewelry, travel accessories and the introduction fur. Launched in the summer 2008 by native Californian designer, Julie Jun,  The Maj collection is dedicated to creating basic apparel individualised with various dyes and washing techniques. The kind of pieces you literally wear to shreds.
“The Maj brand—an acronym of Jun’s family members: Max, Aaron and herself, Julie— Maj, is the Greek root meaning Magic, which is what Jun equates she is able to do with her unique and sophisticated washes combined with minimalistic basics”.
