Barbie World at Dover Street Market

The 50th anniversary of Barbie generated lots of buzz, here’s a look the Barbie World  launch at DSM last week:
“Henry Holland was responsible for curating the space that begins with a gigantic sculpture of Barbie applying lipstick by Martin Smeaton from the Andy Hillman Studio, which plays off against the comparatively diminutive sized Barbie and Ken dolls designed by Roksanda Ilincic, Danielle Scutt and Gareth Pugh. All three dolls were dressed in their respective designer’s signature looks including a purple satin big shouldered jacket by Ilincic, dark denim outfit by Scutt and black PVC jacket by Pugh.
