The Rihanna Fiasco
Earlier today, I put up a post that was a shot of Rihanna and Chris together for the first time since their first meltdown (yes, that’s the link, I’m not reposting the images here ’cause at this point I’m over the drama). Because of the level of controversy it was causing the post was taken down, but I just want to make it known that Samia and I have been posting on this site for quite some time now and here and there we have always featured some celebrity stuff that doesn’t quite seem fashion related (including “Guess the Celebrity Rack,” our always very popular posts featuring gratuitous shots of KimK’s booty, not to mention, one on an 18K gold vibrator, which drew record high levels of traffic). At any given moment, there are half a dozen celebs whose choices fascinate us and that includes decisions they make that aren’t always clearly fashion-related, and that is because style is informed by, gee-what-a-shocker, a lot of stuff that happens during life away from the runway or design room. When I said earlier today I had no opinion about the Rihanna/Chris fiasco, I meant it. It’s a complicated situation and if you ask a million people what they think, you get a million opinions. I just happen to not have one, but figured our readers who, like us, find RihRih’s every move interesting would want to know about the images. This is supposed to be a cutting-edge, streetwear-inspired fashion blog and we will continue to–on occassion–post shit that some people find annoying, offensive or just wrong for a fashion blog. You want smooth, p.r.-tested fashion, I’m sure you know where to find it.

Rihanna is a fashion icon. Most were shocked and stunned at the events that have taken place surrounding her and Chris Brown. I can’t speak for everyone, but any word that our girl is okay is greatly appreciated. Taking down your posts though? That is unbelievable. It’s Women’s History month, you would think there would be no hating on the ladies. I remember the times when I used to go on High Snobiety as a whole and have had to pick over the posts to find something/anything for girls. High Snobette has come a long way and you deserve to post what you want. I enjoy everything you put up and recommend this blog to all of my friends. Regardless of what posts you decide to put on your blog though, I’m for sure going to keep coming back daily and continue to keep High Snobette as my home page. Thank you for what you do…
Noble Fan & Fashionista,
Angel.
Thanks Angel for your thoughts and kind words about HS.
No hating on the ladies? IF anything the statement made should be that she is pathetic for making such harsh accusations and then being seen with him, you should be ashamed to still report on her. Looking over all the sites that go along with this one, none of them post stuff like this, and its shameful to them that you do. Every time I think highsnobette is getting better and actually makes it back into my rss reader, stuff like this happens to make me want to take it back out again. This post is nothing more then some high school ish put on blast to way too many people, and why did you take the post down to begin with, if only to put a worse one up? You need to start a gossip column and get over trying to write about fashion (and calling yourself an editor with that terrible grammar all over your post), its obviously not your niche.
Cheers to you HighSnobette!
nycbiddy,
I’d rather hear the thoughts of these real women on fashion and the stars that we pull trends from than (not then, dear, grammar obviously isn’t your niche either) the rantings from a sociopath craving the attention of bloggers and an audience that do not give an ish (??). Your negative comments about the editors of this blog, Rihanna, or Ladies in general are not welcome here. Please claim your 2 seconds of internet fame on some other fash-blog. Thanks, babe.
Go, HighSnobette!!
rihanna got beat by her man, now shes back with him, and you ladies support that? Pathetic
The broad could’ve at least put on a wig! lmao
