LEW Spring/Summer 09

LEW s/s 09

Based out of Amsterdam, LEW is a line that pairs relaxed silhouettes with adventurous colors and geometric prints. Their Spring/Summer collection is just what I need to get out of my grey/black rut caused by the current New England weather. Over the past few months my wardrobe’s color palette has been somewhat stoic and LEW’s Easter egg colored separates are the jolt I need.

Lots more of the happy go lucky S/S 09 collection from LEW after the jump.

This past week we got to preview the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection for May Kosaka’s MOTHE .  Based and produced  in Brooklyn, MOTHE  takes inspiration from the duality and transformation of   moths  to create a collection of pieces that are modern convertible and timeless. The fabrics are soft and the silhouettes  have the perfect combination of structure and fluidity. We heart MOTHE A LOT!

highsnobette-dime-piece-interview

Ashley and Laura of DimePiece Designs are a force to be reckoned with in the women’s street wear game. Having just started the brand a few years ago, DimePiece has already graduated from it’s beginnings of screen printed tees to a sophisticated and more elaborate line of cut & sew pieces.  C’est La Vie was lucky enough to score an interview with them so be sure to head over to hear what the ladies have to say.

This is one  pant style that trend-centric fashionista’s  seem to be really afraid of: The Harem pants or Sarouel pants.  You either get it or you don’t. And that is perfectly okay. I  love the ease and playfulness they bring  to the fashion scene.  And of course,  in my head I could pretend to be on  a stylish  excursion  with Bedouins in the Sahara.

First Look: Keds Fall/Winter 2009

Highsnobette-first look keds f/w 09

Having worn Keds for nearly 20 years now I believe its easy to say they have been a staple in my wardrobe my whole life. I’m a huge fan of classic sneakers and Keds are the epitome of timeless footwear. However, that’s not to say that they haven’t been moving forward with the brand. Fall will be bringing the Eco friendly green line pictured above. I love the mid top velvet with purple detailing and the small green Keds logo, something they have never touched upon before.  The new fall 09 collection also featured some great simplified looks like a lace front low top in a grey sweatshirt material and a full blackout canvas.  A little birdie told me that Keds has some big things in the works and Highsnobette will be sure to keep you updated.

More from Keds Fall/Winter 2009 collection after the jump.

tmfront Taylor Momsen on Location for Gossip Girl

Pictured on location for “Gossip Girl,” Ms. Momsen (or, rather, her stylist) very much occupies a fashion lane that at least for this HighSnobette editor feels right at home. Love the boots. The pair on the left is directional for its oxblood red color and the one of the right for its menswear styling.

Nike Dunk Pucci-Inspired Pack

nkepucci Nike Dunk Pucci Inspired Pack

Cute right? But be clear, this is not a Nike Dunk Pucci collabo, just a Pucci-INSPIRED design. Pucci should sue Swooshy for design infringement just like Nike does to everyone else. Except, oh wait, Nike’s team of lawyers is probably only a billion times bigger than Pucci’s so they automatically lose.  After all it’s not whether you’re right or wrong, it’s who has the bigger stack of dollars.

Thanks to Dunk for the images.

Culture Clash,  is the theme chosen  by  Hellz Bellz for Spring/Summer 2009. Bright fun pieces with an edge of subversion that has become Lanie Alabanza- Barcena’s signature:

“Taking it back to where it all began… NYC of course, the collection was inspired by the cultural melting pot itself, bringing to you a collection full of vibrant colors and patterns, uniting and bridging cultural boundaries. The line features a brushed french terry pullover hoodie with triangle jacquard triangle rib and “Natural Born Badass” embroidery on the back, a zebra mesh jacket w/ contrast pop red lining, the much anticipated acid wash denim jacket with “HELLZ” and broken bottle embroidered artwork on the back, along with fashion tops, tanks, graphic tees and multi-colored leggings.”
