Newton Running Shoes

I know we don’t generally write about performance sneakers ’round here, but I spotted these Newton Running shoes in the latest issue of Vogue and thought they looked kinda fly. And since I do run (I’m a Brooks gal), I also like the shoes’ technical approach, which is all about being light weight and coming as close as possible to simulating barefoot running (which, brag-brag, I just did this past weekend on the beaches of Puerto Rico!)

From what I can tell, the company is pretty new and as such, it gets bonus points for designing shoes specifically for women right out of the gate. If you go to the home page, you’ll see that the inside of the shoe features a graphic image of Isaac Newton! Heh, design geekiness at its best!
