When I walked in to Opening Ceremony in Ny a while back, it was like one of those ...Finally!! moments.The design of the space was fairly simple and even cozy on so many levels and the apparel/accessories selection made me weak in the knees.The almost rigid modern edge that can often be present in high/modern  fashion retailers was nowhere to be found, and that was so refreshing.Dean Mayo Davies of Ponystep interviewed Carol Lim and Umberto Leon the brains behind Opening Ceremony you can read the whole feature here.

One of the coolest things this holiday season is that with the financial turmoil  in NYC is that everyone has a sale! Some are better than others ...A pair of festive sequined Marc Jacobs pumps for less than 150 dollars that is a steal!

On a visit to the  Jil Sander boutique in Soho I was in  awe of the coats .The construction ,the fabric, and the fact that the rest of the silhouette is slim and sleek makes the cahsgora melton coat a winner .Check on the next page to see it with all the panel up!

Thanks to new blogging buddy TooManyTights, I've learned that THE hot leggings these days in Australia (and probably other places, too!) are Sass & Bide's rat leggings. They look sort of like regular old leggings on first examine, but there's this whole rouching thing going on with the inseam, which is pretty hot.

We attented the Launch party of the Adidas Black Tie last week. Hosted by David Z and Adidas at the swanky Goldbar. This was probably be the best "sneaker" launch party this year with the venue being appropriate for the theme,the crowd being fun ,and actually dress-up.

When we heard of the theme and the black tie dress code we were curious to see if the men would  actually suit up, (cause for the most part the ladies get decked out)and lo and behold they did.  And by the look of itseemed like most of our downtown scenesters read selectism!The best dressed man had to be Ronnie Fieg , clad in Hugo Boss and the Signature Adidas Black Tie Shell Toes.

I want these Mofil pink suede heels so bad I could bawl. Whaaaaaa! Thank GOD they don't come in my size cuz I would totally spend money I don't have to possess them. See, my big-footed, sisters? Sometimes there are small advantages to having feet the size of the average NBA point guard. Our credit cards are probaly a LOT less effed up that our dainty-toed, size seven hermanas.

When I read of florals being a hot fall trend, I get all half sick to my stomach as visions of Laura Ashley dance through my head. But I'm better than okay with this Something Else floral dress at Pixie Market (it's actually not for sale there yet but will be soon) 'cause the cut is simple and the flowers aren't about power as much as cleverness and irony.

Last Night Lois and I were invited to take part of an event by Ladies Lotto @ I heart Boutique, a real life cashmere mafia or lipstick jungle that reunites a  diverse roster of movin' and shakin' women in various fields of fashion,media and entertainment...

The chosen speaker was Camilla Ehlke one of the original founders of  Triple 5 Soul and the co-owner of Breathe-inn,who spoke honestly of  her journey from downtown fashion mogul to bed and breakfast owner... It was deep!

Ladies Lotto challenges the concept that women in fashion and media can be catty  and cold and creates a safe place where women can be women make business deals and collabos.. .while having fun and chatting...whether you rock kicks or stilettoes...You gotta Love  that!
