I recently found out about Esperanza Spalding ,a musical prodigee, and a Berklee College faculty at the age of 20!! She is featured in latest issue of Trace Magazine, and I thought I had a huge fro'...
She plays the Bass while singing..amazing!!!
I heard this past summer about J.Crew screwing up its etail biz so bad that it issued an online apology to customers. I figured by now the drama had passed, but when I received my fall catalog yesterday, I noticed that they were still handing out mea culpas. Apologies from corps register about a 1 on my Sincere-O-Meter so all their sorry sorries are meaningless to me. The good part is that as a way of making it up, J.Crew is offering customers a 15-percent-off code on online purchases. What's the code? enter FALL at the checkout. The catch is that it's full-priced stuff only.
^^Indigo patent lather quilted bag: $298 orginally; $253 with discount.
The other funny thing is that the CEO of J.Crew, Mickey Drexler, is fairly famous in the industry, and he signed the apology letter "Millard" Drexler. Haha, Millard, who knew that was short for Mickey??
Some of the most wanted styles this summer have been by Sam edelman. For Fall 08 he strikes gold again with the "Uri boot" who if it's not already ,will be one of th most wanted fall boots.Don't wait until you see them on Gossip Girl ! By then it will be over trust me...

I am a firm believer that the weather outside should be the least of your worries when it comes to scoring major fashion pieces.Especially when there is possibility that the object of your desire might not get restocked.

We posted about Heyday for the first time last week. Natch, we visited with the brand while we were at the show. The brand still doesn't have a line specifically sized for women, though designer Darin Hager is totally in tune with the love women have for kicks, and includes chicks with kicks among his promotional images. He was also quick to serve up three Spring '09 styles he thought women would appreciate:
After the flip, Darin's assistant, Monica, models those creamy, yellow hightops we showed you last week. Monica strikes a fierce pose and a happy one and you, the reader, get to decide what her stronger look is.
Back in June, we featured the Polo Boot project launched by Toms, the Boot is now available here for a limited time
The Mini movie is adorable!
enjoy
Living doll KimK recently posed for a Radar Mag photo shoot. The theme was the long ago and legendary Brooke Shield CK jeans ad campaign. In her interview with the mag, she gave the best comeback punch ever when she responded to Paris's description of her butt as gross by panning, "If Paris Hilton thinks my butt looks gross I really don't care. At least I have a butt." Exactly, Kim! Where did crazy Paris get off thinking that all the world loves a backless wonder?? Cheez!
This story was snatched from one of my new favorite blogs, BubbleGumPonys. Go visit and buy one of her I Love NY totes and check out her awesome self-made manicure.

I'll admit it, people, I'm not keeping up music-wise. My upness on the scene these days pretty much begins and ends with M.I.A. Slack. I know. So thank god for the ones who keep up. Here's a video I found on OrangiePorangie featuring The Count & Sinden featuring Kid Sister (I do know her!) and Flosstradamus. The music is almost as fun as the fashion as the dance moves. Or vice versa.
One of the major trends for Fall 08 is the statement neckpiece. Designers like Dries Van Noten, and Philip Lim,to name a few, have all featured standout necklaces on their runways.
Marzia G,designed by Marzia Della Cave, creates unique pieces inspired by her travels around the world. Her belts necklaces and earrings go way beyond trends any of these ,could be on heirloom status...Trendy or not some pieces are just good to have.
Can you imagine the work that goes into making them?
