There's a ton of excitement around the fashion blogosphere over the arrival of Collette in New York. According to the ColleteXGap web site, the beloved French boutique will create a "one-month installation (09-06 to 10-05) in Gap's rotating store," adjacent to its 54th & 5th Ave. flagship stores. No doubt there will be lots of fantastic merchandise, but from what I can see so far the Paris/New York collabo tees will be a highlight. Below is a screen grab of one featuring Paris stencil artist Miss Tic and N.Y. graff artists and designer Claw Money.

My only issue with this collabo is, why freaking Gap?? That chain sucks and has for a long-long time. Seriously, if you don't believe me, ask yourself when the last time was you shopped there for anything other than a pair of cotton panties? So the question arises, is Collete powerful enough to restore some modicum of hipness to Gap or will the ultra-slick French Mademoiselle get dragged down by the big plain chain's doofiness?? Because while it's true that opposites attract, the fact is that as a pair they're not always attractive!

Haven't seen much from Robert these days, but these heels I spotted on Net-A-Porter are not only fetching, but emminently wearable.

^^The gold patent straps are what separates these from the pack. The gladiator feel is there, but it's a very updated and modern version.

This Tom Binns cuff is clearly possessed, simply and truely wicked, and any woman who wears it will discover dark powers previously unknown to her.

The Harajuko Girls did an appearance at Bloomies recently to hawk the Harajuko Lovers line, which, judging form the image, is pretty bag-centric. The line is cute and all, but I never did like the idea of using these four (or three, not sure) women as a weird sort of backdrop to Gwen and I doubt I ever will. Not trying to hurt the girls' hustle or anything; it's just the idea I'm commenting on.

I've been hearing about yoga/activewear Lululemon for a while now. Samia has raved about their ability to design and other people have hyped them up to me, too. But since I'm a blogging-induced hermit, I haven't had a chance to go check out the New York store. However, while visiting Vegas for Magic, I finally got to visit a Lulu store. Everyone was right. It's awesome! The design, the color, the pattern, the padded workout bras, they're all great. The one thing is, it is NOT cheap (tho in fairness it's not super expensive either) so I'm warning, if you are a jockella or you just like a cute pair of jogging shorts DO.NOT.GO.TO.LULU unless you pockets are fat or your credit card is open for business.

^^Two jackets from  the website, which, frankly doesn't do the clothing justice. Besides which, you can't buy it online anyway. You can only purchase at the stores.

For those of you who are secretly dying to get your acid wash on, this Nicholas Morley skirt at PixieMarket is gonna make it as hard to resist as a phone call from your ex on a lonely, drunken night. And yeah, you may regret it in the morn, but damn...

I've been pissed off at Urban Outfitters for a minute now (mainly 'cause it used to be good, but a couple years back took a turn down Craptastic Lane, where it appears to be permanantly parked) so being the petty/spiteful person I can be, it's hard for me to admit that the Free People portion of the company has been designing some pretty decent stuff ven if most of it boils down an everlasting Gobstopper variation on their ethnic-y, flow-y, layering piece-y theme. See for yourself:

Knee-high Hunter boots are gonna be a hot item this fall, but not everyone can or wants to pull off an all-the-way-to-the-knee-and-beyond boot height. For those who are shorter than average or just prefer a more subdued statement, FreePeople is selling a mid-calf size.
