Now that this new show, Compass, is in the mix, there's gonna be a lot of brands that are going to have to decide where it's best to show. The big dudes can afford to show in both if they please (though note that Converse chose to bypass WSA altogether), but smaller, budget-constrained designers often don't have that kind of money 'cause trade shows aren't cheap!. 

^^The lovely, talented, smart and funny Ce Ce Chin, designer/owner for 80%20, showed at the WSA, but not one to missed out on the action, we caught her playing hooky and visiting her pals at Compass.

LaCoste was actually at WSA and Compass, but like a dummy, I didn't visit the booth at Compass, where, I'm told by Lacoste p.r. champ Emalie Adcock, there were was lots of cool Vault stuff that wasn't at the WSA. Oh well, the stuff at the WSA was still pretty great.

^^These bright-pink hightops were causing quite the ruckus in the booth. I had to wrestle them away from a sales rep and as soon as I was done shooting them he snatched them right back.

There's a bunch more images to come from Compass, but I wanted to jump over to the WSA 'cause I know there are some Tokidoki fanatics out there and I wanted them to get an asap look at some Chooka/Tokidoki rainboots that are about to hit the market.

Keep I believe was the only all-female brand at Compass, and it repped with its usual adorable/smart array of shoes. My faves were the gingham wedges. There's something cute and funny about them; a dressed-up pair of chanqletas for days when you want to impress the nighborhood.

Spring 2009 will be a good season, I'll bet, for women's footwear. A lot of new ideas sprung up during 2008 and it's looking like a lot of them will be expanded on and combined for next spring. Here's a spring 2009 J.Shoe style that combines gladiator looks on a platform with Native American detail influences.

Frye is one of the oldest shoe companies in the United states.Operating since 1863.This fall they have raised the bar with great styles like the ones above available at  Urban Outfitters.I love it when brands with a long history are able to keep up with their heritage , expand their fashion quotient   while remainning true to who they are...

A while back, we posted up some 80%20 fall boot images and here are a few more from the same season whose delivery is imminent.

^^We love 80%20 designer, Ce Ce Chin,  cause she's one of the few (if not the only!) shoe designers who understands where chicks who love their kicks are coming from. You know. Sexy doesn't begin and end with heels. It's about working the TOTAL package.
