This post pretty much wraps up Magic images. There's one more of shoes I photographed on women's feet and that's it. I feel bad that I lost this woman's business card. [Update: MissCrew has a post on the designer, too, and her name is Peggy Noland! Tons more great photos there of her whole booth and other items.] All I can say is she was awesome, a veritable cupcake come to life. She was selling clubwear, which is mostly popular in Japan and Europe, which I can totally imagine in large part 'cause I haven't been to discos in either of those places so why the heck not?

Note the "I heart Mommy/Daddy" print on her outfit, not to mention the polka dot Reebok Freestyle kicks. My heart swoons!

After the flip you can see not just a cowl-necked body suit, and a adult-sized clubwear diaper with a special added feature.

I've been pissed off at Urban Outfitters for a minute now (mainly 'cause it used to be good, but a couple years back took a turn down Craptastic Lane, where it appears to be permanantly parked) so being the petty/spiteful person I can be, it's hard for me to admit that the Free People portion of the company has been designing some pretty decent stuff ven if most of it boils down an everlasting Gobstopper variation on their ethnic-y, flow-y, layering piece-y theme. Following the announcement in February to cease production of Polaroid instant film, conceptual photographer Lynnette Astaire's New Orleans inspired performance comes highly anticipated at this years Deitch Art Parade. In it's 4th year, the annually curated event, sponsored by Deitch Projects, Paper Magazine and Creative Time, marks the beginning of the fall art season in New York City.

 The event is held on West Broadway in the Soho neighborhood of New York City. Past and current performers include Yoko Ono, Kenny Scharf, Scissor Sisters, and Steve 'ESPO' Powers. Lynnette's piece, entitled "The Polaroid Funeral"  is a live adaptation of a self portrait session produced earlier this year. Classically trained in dance and music, this marks her debut in the art world as a performance artist.

L.A Gear just launched their new site! The re-launch of the label kinda worries me tough...I still want a pair of those pink and white hi-tops with pink & white shoe laces, and I am very excited to see them come back!

But the thing is that LA GEAR was a symbol of the "Cool Urban  Girl"as you can see on the picture above, and today that girl  looks very different: she's  prolly rocking  a vintage tee,super skinny J brand or Paige jeans, hi top Nikes or Jordans, a Chanel or LV bag,with Super or Marc Jacobs shades,you get the picture.So, in a nutshell that girl  loves fashion , shops everywhere,reads highsnobette(had to go there LOL) among other sites and prolly has her own...

Appealing to the nostalgia of the brand  might not get them too far if  that is all their marketing efforts  will entail ,hopefully not...starlets who rock kicks Like, Rih Rih,Cassie,La Lohan ect should definitely be on their roster If they want to reach the women who born in the 90's ...

Heels .com as I said before has to be the best heels shopping website ever!to be able to look at shoes by color alone is a feat seldomly accomplished by online retailers, if even attempted,I found a great selection of Betsey Johnson,shoes like the ones above.I am loving Gold on everything lately...Frontal view on the next page Online selection here

I'm always shopping...I get into the habit of browsing and  to me it's just fun,sales people are really nice if you're not  condescending to them, and you learn interesting things...One of them as told by a  handsome sales guy was the amazing sexy power of a woman in strappy sandals, according to him the heat  factor increases as the straps tie higher around the leg but, very few men will admit to it...I guess it is not a coincidence that Azzedine Alaia  named these "Whips"..available at Browns.

Happy Labor day to all the Lovers of West Indies!!!,  I know that's not what the day was classically intented for,but  caribean folks like myself never say not to a reason to partay and whine ya bady ,the culture is not opposed to their women being a little "juicer" either!

After checking out the LouBs at MyPrestigium, I then headed over to the site's Chanel accessories section to do some further fantasizing. I'm not a major fan of brooches or pins for that matter, mainly 'cause I've never been a fan of grannie chic, but these are Chanel, which, in my case, senseless enamoration with an overpriced, high-end label trumps ickiness factor of brooches.

^^There are two other brooches to pick from on the other side, but I like this one the best by far, mainly 'cause it pays homage to Coco, who, in my head I've always decided was one of the original cool/fierce females and if she were around today would probably be designing kick-ass, street-inspired coutoure.
