It's a slow news day people. A lot is gonna happen once fashion week hits, but in the meantime, me and Samia are scraping here. Thus you have my (amittedly lame) excuse for leading you to a blog war that is currently raging between MissBehave and FashionIndie. It's all over whether or not FashionIndie is excessively mean or not, and I know I should be all, females should get along and support each other, blah, blah, blah, but I'm sorry, a good fight is not only a good fight, it's also newsworthy. It's all pretty hysterical and hopefully won't get any crazier than a few flung lemons! 

My opinion? Part of fashion has always been its meanness, it's true, and then you couple that in with the negativity that comes with the anonymity of the internet, and you have a recipe for some serious ugliness. Still, I'd rather deal with that a million times over the fake-ass, rules-infested, stab-you-in-the-back-and-jack-your-ideas culture of corporate America any.day.of.the.week.

I'm in a very I-don't-know-mood today. I didn't know if I like the sequin pants dress and I don't know if I like this Members Only jacket that you can buy at ShopBop. I mean, I like it, the cut is classic, but I'm kind feeling like the cool irony factor of this brand is a little 2007. But then again, who freaking cares and btw, how did I turn out to be such a retard?

^^It's $145. This brand always makes me think of the maid on Will & Grace (which I forgot the name of so I typed in "Jack, gay, sitcom." It worked!) cuz she always was wearing one.

Fall 2008 marks the continuation Of Lanie Alabanza Barcena's Hellz Bellz as one of the main contenders in the female streetwear world.Consistent look,funky and versatile pieces with a  don't mess with me edge that  we love!

I've been hearing about yoga/activewear Lululemon for a while now. Samia has raved about their ability to design and other people have hyped them up to me, too. But since I'm a blogging-induced hermit, I haven't had a chance to go check out the New York store. However, while visiting Vegas for Magic, I finally got to visit a Lulu store. Everyone was right. It's awesome! The design, the color, the pattern, the padded workout bras, they're all great. The one thing is, it is NOT cheap (tho in fairness it's not super expensive either) so I'm warning, if you are a jockella or you just like a cute pair of jogging shorts DO.NOT.GO.TO.LULU unless you pockets are fat or your credit card is open for business.

^^Two jackets from  the website, which, frankly doesn't do the clothing justice. Besides which, you can't buy it online anyway. You can only purchase at the stores.

This Proenza Schouler pant suit at Kirna Zabete is kinda, I don't know, stunning? I'm not sure I even love it or not. Is is right for now? Is there a starlet on the planet who could wear this on a red carpet and pull it off? Is it too Cher-a-la-her-Bob-Mackie days or is it way ahead of its time?

Some  footwear silhouettes dissapear  like the  square toes,Prada did in the nineties,others keep resurfacing year after year.As much as the round toe was pushed the pointy- toed boot seems always relevant as well as flattering.Chloe really Rocked this Fall !

Samia hipped me up to the fact that Marc Jacobs lovers who want a fix, but can't afford his expensive stuff, can buy relatively low-priced "Special Items," the catch being they're only sold at his stores. There you can get your hands on all sorts of things priced $30 and under. This snakeskin purse aint under $30, however. (Nice try, but you should know better!) It's actually $189 and you are free to buy it for me as an early X-mas gift.

The cheapest thing is a $5 plastic key loop. It'd be a great stocking stuffer except that who over the age of 12 has a stocking?

I'm really loving where women's fashion sandals, especially flats, are these days trend-wise. If you think back on the desert were lost in a mere two or three seasons ago when rubber flip-flops dominated and Havainos were a major fashion statement, the choices in comparison now are borderline spectacular, and I have a felling that Spring 2009 promises to be even more creative and fun. While at Magic, I photographed some sandals that I liked. There were so many more that I didn't get a chance to snap for whatever reason (like the pair of Gucci thongs that didn't make it 'cause my dumb battery ran out!)

 Helmut Lang,the man  is Back! He is one of the very few designers whose lines I have loved entirely and whose designs I have been obsessed with...Years later after he left the brand who still holds his name, we clearly see how his aesthetic influenced fashion. He is opening in Hannover,Germany a month long multi media art installation, titled "All the same difficult" or "Alles Gleich Schwer" showcasing his thoughts and ideas:

"The continuity is illustrated by the fact that, what is important to me,is  expressing  the appropriate form, content and context of different forms of mediation and other dimensions." HL
