I bought these mini Nike Dunks for a baby girl I may never even meet, much less see pictures of. Yes, people, that's how desperate I am to experience the cute-sneaker-buying experience I was deprived of with my own son!

'Member last week I put up all those shots of the Ontisuka Tiger Tokidoki collabo shoes? Well I took other images as well, but I took a little time out from this site so I'm just getting them up today. One of the things Onitsuka is doing for spring is this Chinese-astrology-inspired line. I must say, the art of some of these shoes is quite amazing. Check out this one:

After seeing the DC's women's S/S09 shoes and clothing collection I was about read to head out when I was stopped in my tracks by the DC Kids collection. Can I just restate for about the fourth time how jealous I am of all of you who have kids that are still wee? 'Cause I am. Hate you all. Back in my son's baby days, the only options were Jordans and truth be told I was always too flat busted to ever cop him a pair.
^^I wanna cry. Seriously. Mommies whose kids are approaching grown, I know you know what I'm talking about.
DC Shoes spring line looks great--a little bit of something for everyone--canvas skimmers, lows and (still my personal fave) hightops. Kudos to DC for designing for women and not just taking down their most popular men's styles and coloring them in with a pink crayon. There's no denying that these dotted mids with the assymetrical laces and buttons on the strap are strictly made for the ladies and only the seriously stylish ones at that.

We always complain about the dearth of women's streetwear brands so it always makes us pleased as punch to see new labels emerge. OldBabyDoll is the latest entry and it's looking like a good one. According to creative director Sabrina Thornton, OBD, each season's collection includes iconic female images.
On why Marilyn (in the tee on the left), Sabrina comments: "We believe she is one of the most sexiest, free, beautiful women that has ever walked this earth. She went against the grain with no boundaries. She was a sex symbol when it was not cool. She was such a trailblazer. Of course there is Pam Grier, Harriet Tubman, Janice Joplin, Dorothy, Billie and the list goes on. But it can be so easy to forget who or what has laid this foundation down for women today. I feel like she is what Old BabyDoll reps. She sexy but street enough to get what the hell she wants in life."
The things sneaker companies are designing for the babies these days. Just crazy. Back when my kid was a wee one the ONLY cool baby sneakers were Jordans. Now Boo-Boo can have a collection as good as his Mom or Dad! These Puma First Round Deer hightops are available now on Overkill and they are off they are, in a nutshell, off the hinges.

From Japanese streetwear mag Unbar, we have word X-Girl recently launched an eyewear collection. Cute stuff and the model's manicure is poppin'!
Not sure what the status of X-Girl is in the United States. All you OGs know that Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth originally launched this line in the '90s, but sold it at some point to a Japanese company. Does it still have a store on Lafayette in Manhattan?

The Fila X Premium Goods event went down last night at the Manhattan Fila store. Ever since Magic, I've developed a secret crush on Fila, and after last night, I'm no less in love. I just want Fila to do more of the same slick looks for women that it's already doing for men. Here's the Fila/Premium Goods collabo sneaker (sorry Ladies, only in men's sizes) being held by the ever-chilled Clarence, owner of BK-based Premium Goods.
^^When I chatted with Clarence, we heard that he has emminent plans (as in next week!) in the works to open an all-women's boutique called Wndrlnd, next door to Premium Goods!! I have to chat with him to get details on an exact opening date as well as the brands he's gonna stock, but in the meantime....wheeeeeeee!
