While I have had it up to here with silhouettes of woodland creatures and birds used as a design feature, I fell in immediate love with this ice cream bar necklace, made for Nylon magazine by Lucas Design. There's a lot of factors tugging at my heartstrings, starting with my longterm love affair with ice cream (and it helps that it's finally starting to feel like ice cream season in New York), add in the purple sparkle and I'm reeled in hook, line and sinker!

This necklace and some others will be available for $50 a pop on 06/01 at Fred Segal, Karmaloop, and UrbanOutfitters, but there's not gonna be endless quantities so get 'em before they melt!

Pat Field's collabo continues with Payless. This collection looks better to me than her initial offerings, which were a bit too tranny for my tastes. Not that's there's anything wrong with tranny, but I just don't think brightly-colored, 70s platforms are the hot look right now.

I started this item-of-the-day feature a couple weeks ago and managed to keep it up for a whole five days in a row (if that even!) Besides obvious issues with the limits of my attention span, I have to say that there are some days when I just don't come across an item worthy of Snobettiest status. There were some seemingly random guests at the Sex & the City premiere. Not sure why Kid Sister was there. Maybe she has some music on the sountrack? She looks okay here. Just okay.  And given that she made her name bragging about her mani, I'm a little disappointed by the paint job she's flashing.

Here's the first of a couple of posts on the New York Sex & the City premiere. Lil' Kim was there. The dress is great, love the shoes, but as you can see from the close-up, Ma's make-up, as is often the case, is out there. Which, frankly, is mind boggling. If you ever saw the videos of Kim way back in her hanging-out, BK days, she was nothing if not adorable from head to toe. That effervescent personality still remains, but damn if fame hasn't twisted this woman's mirror to the point where can't even really see herself anymore.

At some conference last week, I kept running into this one particularly stylish woman, who was rocking a Gucci logo belt hard. At first, I was like, hmmm, that's cool. Haven't seen anyone run one of those in a minute. But then after I got back home, I realized I couldn't stop thinking of her belt. Clearly I had caught a bad case of the I-Want-That-Too! virus.

So off I went to Ebay and lo and behold, there was my new obsession:

There's a bunch of new stuff up at ShopBop, including some dresses by one of my all time faves, Diane Von Furstenberg. I'm nearing the end of my tolerance for this summer's all-the-rage trend of short and basic jersey dresses, but at least this one takes a more daring approach in terms of color and pattern:

An interview with Pat Field was featured on PerezHilton exclusively yesterday. Given her considerable talents, it was pretty interesting to listen to her breakdown her style choices for the Sex & the City movie. One thing she mentioned was a move toward smaller bags.

This Marc Jacobs bag recently added to ShopBop sure does speak to the trend (for scale reference, the zipper is seven inches long):

This past week Reebok hosted an intimate Presentation of their Summer 08 looks to Stylists and Trendsetters at the Penthouses of the Soho grand in NYC,that's a view from fome the south penthouse.HighSnobette snapped a few pics aof the styles that caught our eye...

Maybe it's the eighties kid in me but Gold on sneakers just works for me..thankfully Styles like the NPC and the Ventilator have made their way to the women's Collections.

If there is Anything I Love in our  world of consumption it's a brand that stands for something...that has something to say..I dunno about you but I like to know what a brand believes about the people who consume it  or that there is a philosphy behind what they do..especially with something so Involved as cosmetics..

Francois Nars is quoted here as saying..To believe in you own Beauty... How often do we hear that ... Think about it... there are women today who grace the pages of every magazine who would have been considered weird or just not a praiseworthy beauty...Whether because of a  prominent nose,a skin Color a shape of body ect.. 

So In my "testing" the first thing I went to of course was the Lip Gloss Called"Missbehave" it's one of those lip glosses that really can make you Mis-behave if you are not careful ..

On a darker skin tone it's like a Goldish Redish Bonze, and on a fair complexion it's slightly darker.The Good thing about this Gloss is that it's really sheer...really shiny,NOT Sticky..Perfect for the summer...and pretty much anytime..

And kinda dangerous..I found myself pouting constantly..Did I say dangerous..

The Mindgame Lipstick is also Very Sheer and goes well under the gloss it was very "natural "Looking on a medium skin tone "a la Rihanna" and if you're  of the lighter persuasion "a La Carrie Bradshaw" it's perfect for everyday fierceness...

The name gets me too tough..Who said girls can't play too...

The texture of this Pencil Roman Holiday is perfect it glides on..It's more like a lipstick. However On a darker skin tone it's very light..

It can be used to make thin lips look fuller But unless you are very familair The technique I recommend getting a make-up pros advice..

For a very fair skin tone tough it's cute and even a little retro

 In essence make-up is about taking Risks and getting out of your comfort Zone Who knows You might even Find  a beauty that you never knew was there.... Your True Beauty....The one you have to find in yourself before others can see it...

There's a story in the Style section of the Times laying out the premise that it is now okay and even cool to walk around with a busted manicure. And there is some truth to that. But it's not just about nail polish. In general, busy young females no longer feel like beholden to ANY beauty or fashion regime. Chipped nails are not so much hip as they are a reflection of the crumbling of insane female beauty standards. Which is a good thing. Women shouldn't feel like they can't leave the house just 'cause everything isn't perfectly on point.

All that being said, I can't get with that days-on-end, chipped nails look. It drives me NUTS! And there's nothing that brings me greater inner-happiness than gazing upon my own, brand new, fresh and clean manicure.

For whatever reason, our fearless leader, David, was fishing around The Finish Line today and came up with a couple of snappy items. Earlier in the day he sent me the purple, hi Nike All Courts, and not long after that he sent the link to these super cute pink Nike Dunks.

This earrings were sent to me courtesy of newbie to the high-end jewelry world Theodore Mander, who is the designer behind Navaeh Jewelry. Theo's a young buck, but he's already managed to get his goods placed on some quasi-famous rap artists. Love that hustle spirit and his designs are tight, too!  

Here's a pair of earrings that were custom-made for rapper Aztec 730, aka Tec Diamonds (which, I don't know about you, but I have NO idea who that is!):

Here's Madonna making her second, red carpet apperance at Cannes, this time in a red dress. It's not nearly as haute as the Chanel dress, but she looks a thousand times better 'cause this one suits her frame better. She even seeme to feel more confident.

Straight up, the dress, which is Chanel, is amazing. You see a garment like this and it's one of those moments when you are made to understand the difference between ready to wear and coutoure. My issue with Madge in this dress, however, is that she's so tiny that it doesn't look as good on her. And she has a tendency to do that--wear outfits that fit her personality rather than her frame. But oh well, she's Mo. Her critics over the past quarter of a century have come and gone and she remains standing. A bad-ass female if ever there was one!

My other issue is that I'm not crazy about this kind of stark, black, white color contrast. To my eye, it breaks up the dress's lines too much.

Now We have clearly established at Highsnobette that Rihanna can pretty much rock anything and look Fly, And we have also praised the fact that Elle magazine has been rocking great editorials and fashion stories..

How disspointed was I when I finally saw this Cover... I totally dissagree with the outfit choice..No offense to the stylist but dear,this woman has the ability to do so much more than a pouffy dress  and big hoops...(granted the dress is Donna Karan but it could also be forever21!!)Not that forever 21 lacks fashion cred... I made a killing there yesterday shopping for a client...

Nevertheless,the outfits inside the mag were alot better But Come on Elle Mag!!! From Madonna's Uber May issue cover to this...I can't ...
