We've been talking up this collabo for a while now and the shoes as of this morning are now available for purchase. There are only 100 pairs being sold in the United States (at $150 bucks a pop), and the site includes a counter letting visitors know how many are left.

I know it's still freezing out there and you haven't laid eyes on your toes in about three months (and you're still riding with that same pedicure you got about that long ago, aren't you??), but it's about to be April, a time when a togther women's thoughts turn to getting a spiffed up mani and pedi.
If you, like me, have been frustrated by finding a salon that does imaginative nail art that's in sync with how your brain sees the world, then I suggest you check out Valley Nails on Orchard Street in Manhattan. Look at these samples from the store's website and see if you don't think they'd do you proper:
Valley also offers waxing and the site also talks about this food the stores sells called acai, which looks gross but is supposed to be really good for you and sounds like it could taste okay
I am embarrassed that I only just found out about this chick and that's 'cause I spotted her on PerezHilton yesterday. And that's doubly fucked up because while looking for this video I discovered that she backs Nas on his God's Son "Heaven" song, which I only listened to, oh like 18 billion times when it first came out. So I'm like, why oh why didn't I dig a little to find out who was the amazing female voice in that song??? (And on another note, that is what is so damn extra about Nasir Jones--no he doesn't produce endless product, but the songs he does create are intricate and deep and keep unfolding themselves, and looong after they are released, you can go back, listen and go, "Oh wow...I didn't hear that the first go round.)
Anyway, the name of this song is "Seven Day Fool," and the reason that it matters that Ms. Black is singing it is 'cause you only have to look in this female's eyes for two seconds to know that life has tricked her more times than her broken hard dares to admit and thus she truely is NOBODY'S fool, but you know how it goes, a girl can dream, can't she?
Rhi-Rhi showed up with both style guns blazing at the recent Nickelodeon Kids' Choice awards this past weekend. Give her stylist props. She had the challenge of keeping Rhianna looking appropriately casual while at the same time not letting her fall back into a too-relaxed and teeny-bopper look. (Meahwhile, how bad did I feel for Rhianna's man, Chris Brown, who somehow got roped into wearing a hideous, bright orange Nickelodeon hoodie and looked miserable doing so. By the end of the night Rhi-Rhi was probably so not feeling him. Like, ummm, I'm feeling sort of tired tonight, baby...do you mind if I just go home? By myself?)
^^These pants are gonna be controversial 'cause they're highwaisted AND baggy, but that's okay. Better she skate along the edge that wear the same old stupid straight legs. Those boring-ass style choices are best left to Auntie Beyonce.
^^I have shoes that I describe as my "three-hour heels," as in after wearing them for three hours, my feet are DONE. These I'd guess are more like 45-minute heels.
^^A close up on the punk rock cuffs and a green mani, which, ehh, I don't like. I feel like with all the cool-ass nail art options she could have done something a little more imaginative.

First off, the blog was fucked up last week. Starting like Tuesday, it became impossible to post anything, the site was taking forever to load, whatever, whatever. Kudos to David 'cause he was right on top of that shit and changed HighSnobette and every other site he commands over to a new server and by Thursday everything was back to peachy. (Now can we get our goddam comments back?????????? Yes, there is always something for us to bitch about. Always.)
Back to normal except that my partner, Samia, went on vacation on Thursday, I think. Which, okay, I am soooo happy for Samia 'cause, yeah, she gets to be relaxing on a Caribbean island somewhere (for like a month!). Woo-hoo, you go, Miss World Traveler you. Enjoy your time away! Drink some rum for me! Have sex with some sexy island men for me!
All that being said, the truth is I wish she had stayed her ass in New York, dammit! 'Cause the minute she said she was leaving and might not be able to update that much, my mind couldn't help but turn into a Edward Munch Scream painting. I don't know if you've noticed, but she's much better than me when it comes to getting content up on a regular basis. So if you read this site 'cause you enjoy the non-stop flow of cutting edge, yet super smoooth fashion, well then boo hoo for you because you won't be seeing much of that until Samia returns. (And she was also the one who tended to our MySpace page, which, not for nothing, but I am too old for that shit and thus, don't feel bad if you want to be our friend and nothing happens for a while. I want to be your friend, too, but I have NO idea how to make it happen!)
If, on the other hand, you come here for (infrequently updated) posts whose theme centers around trashiness, smack-talking and, oh yeah, how perfect Kim Kardashian's ass in, then we're all good! I'll provide you with plenty of that!

We also got to meet John Maeda,who is someone I could talk to for days..bright in a very humble way and totally design oriented in the old school way with Pen and Paper .We were Surprised to hear that his process actually sterted with words,who are actually featured in the sock Liners of both the Freestyle and the Ventilator.
We were pressed for time but John definitely has an amazing opinion of the female species..Highsnobette definitely hearts him..Check out his Book :Laws of simplicity...

I'm such a lightweight. All day today I've been at minimal operating capacity 'cause I had a whole three glasses of wine last night. At our visit to Reebok today, I made Samia do all the heavy lifting 'cause I couldn't even find the heart to take my camera all the way out my bag, point the lens at the shoes and push the button. Weak. I know.
Anyway, since I don't have any images to post, I figured I could at least highlight another blogger, who actually was on top of her game today. And that would be Black Girl in the City, (who, btw, we would love to give links love to if David would give us even half the shit we've been begging for for over a year). Today she had a hilarious post on a recent dust up in a movie theater. I'm not going to post the whole story, but here's a nice taste....then you can go to her site and read the rest!
Her almost alien looking oval face was flustered as the manager was trying to explain to her why they couldn’t give her $10 in quarters. But forget all that. My main concern: her Marc Jacobs bag was right under the butter…that I needed….so I could get on my way to the Dr. Seuss experience (on time).
I smiled and politely said, “Excuse me.” She shifted her eyes toward me and never stopped blabbing to the manager about whatever she was sayin. I paused before politely but a little more aggressively saying, “Ma’m, excuse me.” A command that this time could not be ignored. When she looked at me I motioned for her to move your purse so I can get my phukin butter please? Dag! This woman puts her stop sign hand in full effect saying, “You need to wait just a minute.” Straight gangster!
This story makes me think two things. First, that the non-stop, drama that is Marc Jacob's life could possible be manifesting itself in his merchandise and the people who purchase it, and second, how rich AND stupid are you that you would leave such an expensive bag that close to a container that's not only full of grease, but no doubt spraying it on every surface within ten yards as well?? I'm telling you, money is wasted on the wealthy.

On our recent visit to Prada today Lois and I were in awe of the pants featured in their Spring 08 line.And noticed the fact that they have not been prominently featured in many US mainstream editorials ..granted it's still early in the season but the pants are super sleek and dramatically open at the bottom..all you need is a tank top and some flats and you are Fly..

Mutya Buena performed at a concert in Belfast yesterday. Whether you're familiar with her music or not, you can see from these images that Mutya is the kind of woman who'd make the perfect house performer at the HighSnobette Martini Bar (which, admittedly, for now, exists only in our head).

Christian Louboutin designs are going to be exhibited at the Fashion Institute of Technology during March 13 - April 19. I've given Louie-B some shit for being overly stuck on his whole "trademarked" red heel thing ('cause come on--when you're at the point where high-paid celebs are wearing the OhDeer! knock-offs 'cause they don't know better, it is time to move on!), but the truth is the man is a great designer. And the show will be worth a visit not only because a retrospective of Louboutin's shoes will be fun to look at, but also because FIT will do a great job of showcasing his career highlights. I've been to a bunch of their exhibits before and have never been disappointed.

Pastry celebrated its one-year anniversary on Saturday. Vanessa and Angie baby were there, along with Puffy Sean Diddy and Nelly, plus some other B-list types that always seem to show up to these events.
Give these young women their props. They did what every athletic shoe company has been dragging their feet on--creating a line of sneakers that very specifically and without shame speaks to females.

You gotta be pretty o.g. to remember Triple Five Soul back in its Lower East Side days. Besides being a precursor to streetwear, the Triple Five boutique kind of laid the tracks for men's retail with attitude. Like, it wouldn't shock me to discover that prior to opening Supreme, some of its founders put in time in the early 90s selling tees at Triple Five.
Anyway, a LOT--as many of you know--has changed since then--some for the better, some for the worse, and the staff at Triple Five on Lafayette now are very sweet (their neighbors down the block, however, still pride themselves on being total a-holes). And they're also offering a lot more footwear selections for women. Here's a couple that we especially liked:
^^Delancey: high-top, weird heel, mostly white, name references geographical roots of Triple Five, all of which adds up to....you know we like!
^^Midwood: I don't like this one as much, but not everyone is on the hightop bandwagon.
p.s. The shoes as of now are not on TripleFive's site, but I'm guessing they will be soon.

So yesterday my pal Amy invited me to join her at Saks for a spring fashion Presentation..I sucked up my aversion of department stores and entered the emporium that is Saks Fift Avenue.Little did we both know that March 13 was a Mega push for the department store, who chose to cater to it's female consumers by offering them lots of wine ,champagne and even gelato...And the opportunity to do something that most of us would love to do talk about clothes,sip champagne and meet the designers...
Amy and I are obssesed with shoes..maybe it's a Sag's thing? any thoughts Lois??Anyway I had heard of The Mega renovation of sak's shoe department but when I saw it I realized that this was female consumer seduction at it's finest...They really did a good job!
All the high end footwear is displayed at eye level and below( A big deal is visual merchandising) and the whole floor is flourished with comfy counches,benches , no visible cash register and of course Hunky Good Looking shoe salesmen in sharp suits like Everton Devonish on the Left... Willing to drop to their knees to carefully fit you into your High- end footwear..I mean look at him..he could be a police officer with this stature...(He rocks by the way Ask for Him if you ever wanna drop some loot on shoes!!)
And then as I was trying on a pair of Scarlett Red four inch pumps Below( Yes they made it home with me..) Brian Atwood walks over....
and casually commented on how hot yours truly looked ..and even got into a naughty tirade with Everton about those being shoes you keep on....Boys will be boys...
Anyway Brian has some talent to go with his looks A detail that sets his shoes apart is a heart shaped padding right at the ball of the foot..where they usually hurt .... check out more of his shoes after the jump

Murakami is coming to the Brooklyn Museum. His exhibit will be parked there from April 5 through July 13. Those of you who know these things know that the people watching on opening night might actually be juicier than the exhibit itself.
It doesn't say this on the museum's site, but in a category we'll file this under Combined Art & Commerce Grossness Epitomized, I read on Agenda that this exhibit is being done in conjunction with another Murakami Jacobs/LouisV collabo. 'Member last week how we asked: "On the entire planet is there a color, collaboration or treatment that could be applied to a bag covered with LV logos that would inspire you to think, "Damn--THAT bag makes me wish I had a sugar daddy!!"? The answer is still a very definite NOPE!
