Kim apparently is doing a little tour of Australia. She attended a fashion show a few days ago, and yesterday she made an appearance at the launch of Jimmy Choo's stand-alone Sydney boutique.

The funny thing is, if you look at the Wire images, there are as many images of Kim as there are the runway show that took place during the launch party!

I am the biggest damn magpie in the world and generally even the cheapest of flashes catches my eye, but for some reason I'm not feeling these super sparkle Air Rifts. I can imagine thinking they were cute on someone else's feet, just not mine.

Now that we've started doing this High Snobettiest Item of the Day, I know there are gonna be some days where I'm searching high and low and coming up with nada, but not today. One of the nicest things about doing this blog is when our readers put us on to amazing things we'd never see in a million years if it weren't for them. David, our ever-thinking overlord, suggested that we highlight one item per day. Which I think is a good idea. At the very least it'll keep me from wandering too far off our focus on product onto the dusty road of celebrity scandal and gossip, i.e. what RihRih and Kim Kardashian are wearing today, that attracts me like sugar to an ant.  

My first Snobettiest Item of the Day? I'm gonna start with these Fendi earrings.

The quality of the image isn't the best, but you get the idea. Imagine. While your friends are sporting their "Michelle" or "Destiny" or whoever big-hoop, personalized earrings, you enter the scene with these. Conversation over. And that's what's cool about Fendi. Of all the high-end labels, it's the one with the most don't-give-a-shit-attitude. It never had to try and be bad-ass, it was just born that way.

A week or so ago, I highlighted the top-selling tees at Karmaloop. This week I checked in with the site's buyer, Dina, to see what's up with dresses. It's kinda fun to see what I might think is happening vs. the reality of the streetwear-buying masses. One thing for sure, young women of the world are feeling very sexy this spring. The five dresses she listed are all short and extremely flirty.

A while ago I was interviewing a bunch of women for this story on trends and when I asked one of them what her fashion pet peeve was, she told me preassembled charm bracelets. She was like, "How challenged are you if you can't find your own charms?? I mean, isn't that the point in the first place???"

All that being said, I STILL like this charm bracelet by Magdalena Hafner if for no other reason that the sports theme is kinda cute, and it is for guys after all and they need help with this kinda stuff.

^^Correction: I THINK it's designed for men. The website is all in German so in truth I'm just guessing. Anyway, in a way, I think this would look cuter on a chick. If you can't see, that charm in the middle is a pair of kicks!

Late-breaking update: I have been informed by David of HighSnobiety that this is definitely, definitely designed for women and that hell would freeze over before he or any other man he knows would ever wear it.

It's Australian fashion week for which designers are showing spring/summer 2008. Like any of the billions of fashion weeks that take place outside of Paris, Milan, London and New York, the pickings are slim, but still worth a look-see.

Here's a few that caught my eye:

^^Dhinl: Nothing truely groundbreaking but still kinda neat in a futuristic cloud sort of way.

^^Brooke Benson: You'd look pissed if you had to wear this get up, too! (Seriously, I am so not one to criticize cutting-edge fashion looks, but I'm sorry, just no. A gold-plated coconut bathing-suit top that is, worse yet, LAYERED over another shirt doesn't work for me.)

When last I spoke to TooFly, she was mentioning how she needed a new system for keeping herself better organized and on top of all her appointments/events. Given that she not only sent me the flier for this post AND the last one--both events which she's participating in--as busy as this woman is, rather than any new system, she might wanna try cloning herself!

This show takes opens on May 3rd at Fuse Gallery and will be curated by Queen Andrea and GMO$, both of whose art is also featured, along with TooFly plus three more.

If you're not familiar, Niagara is a female artist, known for her femme fatale imagery. A couple of her quotes on her website are funny: “I paint real strong women; a Niagara girls [is] revengeful, but she gets her own way." And even more humorous: "It's the men who cry in my paintings." Well that's nice for a change!

I'm back from vacation. It was a wonderful trip, but it's nice to be back in BK!

Tonight, Claw Money will be celebrating the release of her Boosted case and bag collection in Los Angeles. The event starts at Barracuda and will continue later on at Bordello with performance by Devlin & Darko, Roxy Cottontail and a Special Guest.

Expect an A-List of guests at the event. Rumor also has it that Santogold will be at the event, just another reason to make it over there.

As part of their Spring 2008 Delivery II, Hellz Bellz presents several collaborative items. They worked with artist duo The Collabros, graffiti artist Grotesk and also with Missbehave Magazine. Expect these pieces to be in stores soon.

WWD shows already some trends for Fall 2008. It seems like once again black and white are back as the "it" colors and geometry gets mixed with rock' n ' roll, whatever that is supposed to mean! Read the article here.

Lanvin has been killing it ever since they launched their Pret-A-Porter collection. Men go nuts about their sneakers and we like a loooot their new metallic series of bags. Especially the Peplum Series caught our eyes. Great size, good for a day in town or a night away.

Samia, my blogging partner, believes that we have a lot of male readers. I think she might not be wrong just because a big chunk of our referrels come from HighSnobiety, whose readers have to be almost all guys.

Given the nature of this site, you would think I would read a website called KicksandChicks website regularly, but I don't. Because even though I have no issue with women getting paid to model, if I'm going to look at images of women rocking kicks, they need to reflect a little more sincerity.

I linked to her hysterical recount of an encounter with a Marc-Jacobs-bag-owning idiot not long ago, but the story I'm linking to here is a little different. In it, she talks about shedding an ex. This blog is so far off the rails in terms of what's its content is supposed be today that I figured I'd just pile on with this video, in which Jay's "Dirt Off Your Shoulders" song is mashed up with clips from the campaign, including Barack's speech yesterday when he channels Mr. Carter and literally brushes his shoulders off.

Over at Ultimate-Rihanna there are new scans of RhiRhi from her Afro magazine (sorry, couldn't find the link) cover story. Within the story, she's wearing a dress that's stupid amazing. I hope whoever is hooking RhiRhi up with her fashion is being well compensated 'cause she deserves it for doing such a great job of setting this young woman so far apart from the pack just via her clothing choices alone. Not that I think RhiRhi is totally being constructed from the outside, but how she's being dressed is not small part of her image.

Adidas kicked-off its relaunch of the Superstar yesterday. The relaunch is being done in conjunction with Facebook, where you can finds all sorts of photos and videos and all the other things that sneakerheads love.

Here's one project that was part of the launch: Adidas created giant Superstars and had artists from Upper Playground and Surface to Air use them as a canvas/wall.

And I don't know about you, but I'm sort of mad at Adidas right now The Superstar is an iconic style and I feel like over the past few years, Adidas has been pimping it out like a workhorse ho, with no consideration for its status as hip-hop royalty. I mean this is what, at least the 3rd time they've done some special, "limited" program centered around the Superstar?? Damn shame if you ask me.

When me and Samia (god how I can't wait for her to get back!) went to visit's Asics' showcase a few weeks back, we mostly paid attention to the Tokidoki collabos, but there was one item from the tech line that caught my eye and that was the running dress.

Check it out:

A couple times while jogging around the park near my house, I've seen Muslim women running in knee-length skirts, complete with head scarves, but that's not who Asics had in mind when it designed this garment. According to the rep, this "dress" was made for time-pressed women so they could work out at the gym and then run errands without having to change. This would sooooo not be for me, but I can think of some females that this would appeal to.

While attending the opening night party for the Brooklyn Museum Murakami exhibit, Kanye West was interviewed by New York magazine:

NYMag: Murakami says you're mostly drawn to his work involving women with large breasts?

Kanye: it's true. I have liked big tits ever since I was a kid. I was breast-fed too long. It messed me up!"
