As a fan of Kehinde Wiley’s work I was delighted to see him paint ladies with the same flair he has his males subjects. Titles ‘Economy of Grace’ his latest works are now on view at the Sean Kelly gallery now thru  June 16, 2012. Spotted on  desiPeople.

With Springtime  comes the inclination to wear more  dresses . Finding dresses that can take you to a meeting, a graduation and a sunday brunch can be quite daunting as offreings in the contemporary lane  can be repetitive and frankly often too jurnior-ish for the the sexy and sophisticated Snobette. We  were just put on to Pernia’s Pop-up a destination for hard to find indian designers and fell for this shirt dress by Namrata Joshipura .Effortless yet structured enough for meetings with a fun backless detail an intricate yet subtle  shoulder beading . As a  multi-sensory experience Joya studio combined the launch of their Âmes Sœurs perfume with the words of writer M.J Rose in her Book of Lost Fragrances and the taste of   rose water  lapsang souchong chocolate truffles by Dennison Lee. Âmes Sœurs ( soul mates) paints in a scent, a sense of  of intimacy and softness that can only be experienced at close proximity. Citrusy at first the Rayda Vega designed solid perfume  sold in  a porcelain and 22kt gold container,  later reveals hints of  and musk and incence, like a gentle whisper. Even though Chanel designs don’t vary a ton and are therefore some of the most easily identifiable looks in the fashion world, each collection has its own special look and feel. Resort 2013 was a little more light-hearted than what has as of late, what with the platform shoes, denim themes and Flapper hairdos. And while dresses and skirts of course had that ladylike dna, a theme of pixie cuteness was brushed like fairy dust over the entire collection.

Designer Ce Ce Chin does a lot of things great, but having a knack for designing that “next” shoe is kind of her forte. Case in point the “Pepper” ankle boots above, featuring the brand’s famous hidden wedge. All we can do is swoon. Available in three colors here.

In my mind the image chosen for the cover should showcase the magazine’s best photo that month. And while lately I tend to favor the work being done by the Russians, Vogue Germany is another book that tends to have great, visually stunning covers. For June, American girl Carolyn Murphy is featured on the cover werking a tangerine swimsuit with milkmaid braids shaped  into rings big enough for chihuahuas to jump through. And do you see that cute lil’ tattoo on her upper thigh? What is that, a tiger?

Romanian Andreea Diacanu for Elle Russia: adoring the eyebrows, the “sun” on her skin, her heart-shaped face….totally summer and laid back, yet still completely fierce.

Russian girl Natalia poses for the hometown Vogue. The results are interesting. Normally this book goes for over-the-top style, but for homeslice they went laid back and natural.

Something about Chanel’s presentations is always so ephemerally perfect, reflecting the feel of an epic fairytale set an era that is not past, present or future.
